The main focus for my portfolio so far has been based in sustainable and ecologically sound architectural designs . Projects built from refurbished shipping containers are one of my current fascinations, in part due to their affordability, practicality, and Potential ecological benefits, but also due to the freedom of creativity that these types of builds allow. Posted above there are sketches of two of my favourite shipping container homes along with notes on a study regarding the potential use of recycled plastic within concrete mix. I have also sketched a design for a new clubhouse for my local cricket team as it is currently up for complete refurbishment this year. The drawing is centered around the use of refurbished containers as well as some locally sourced materials.
In addition to my interest in projects designed using recyclable materials, i am extremely fond of the concept of 'vertical forests'. I think they are a brilliant way to combat so many issues facing modern day urban environments. My favourite of these type of building is without doubt the 'Bosco Verticale', designed by Stefano Boeri and inspired by French Botanist, Patrick Blanc. I have also sketched two building that are local to me that i believe would benefit greatly from a 'Bosco Verticale' type revamp.
